Radio VI, side A, track 8: “Twist and Shout” by The Beatles

Oh, The Beatles, I was absolutely stoked when I got this on tape.  It’s not that I was excited that I got a Beatles song, mind you; I actually didn’t even know that you guys sang this.  No, I was excited because I got that awesome song that was on “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off“.  Yeah!  One of the best rock and roll songs ever was now gracing my tape collection!  Now I could relive Matthew Broderick lip-syncing on that float, and more importantly, I could relive all the girls on that float in their German beer maiden costumes shimmying and shaking to that song.  And I could also relive the moment when Rodney Dangerfield sang it in “Back To School”.  I know you guys are legends and everything, The Beatles, but for me, this song is all about Matthew Broderick, sexy beer maidens and Rodney Dangerfield.  Probably not what you had in mind when you recorded it (MAYBE the beer maidens), but listening to it always makes me happy, and that’s what’s important, right guys?

“Twist and Shout”

Well, shake it up, baby, now (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout (twist and shout)
Come on, come on, come on, come on, baby, now (come on, baby)
Come on and work it on out (work it on out)

Well, work it on out, honey (work it on out)
You know, you look so good (look so good)
You know, you got me goin’ now (got me goin’)
Just like I knew you would (like I knew you would, oooo!)

Well, shake it up, baby, now (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout (twist and shout)
Come on, come on, come on, come on, baby, now (come on, baby)
Come on and work it on out (work it on out, wooo!)

You know you twist you, little girl (twist, little girl)
You know you twist so fine (twist so fine)
Come on and twist a little closer, now (twist a little closer)
And let me know that you’re mine (let me know you’re mine, ooo!)

Aaaaaaa (aaaaaa)(aaaaaaa)(aaaaaaaa)

Wow!!!  Yeaahh!

Yeah, shake it up, baby, now (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout (twist and shout)
Come on, come on, come on, come on, baby, now (come on, baby)
Come on and work it on out (work it on out, wooo!)

You know you twist you, little girl (twist, little girl)
You know you twist so fine (twist so fine)
Come on and twist a little closer now (twist a little closer)
And let me know that you’re mine (let me know you’re mine, wooo!)

Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now (shake it up, baby)

Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now (shake it up, baby)

Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now (shake it up, baby)

Aaaaaaa (aaaaaa)(aaaaaaa)(aaaaaaaa)
