Radio 66, side B, track 2: “Praying For Time” by George Michael

Oh, George Michael, ya damn right I recorded this one again!  And that means you’ve joined the ranks of Debbie Gibson and The Boys who made such amazing songs that I had to record their awesome songs twice on the same tape.  The only reason I didn’t record this one off the radio even more is because I had the cassingle.  After all this time, this song still fills me completely up with an aching sadness that’s almost welcoming.  I know we JUST added a song to the “Official Theme Song” list, George Michael, but dammit, this is my blog, and a heart-breakingly beautiful song from 1990 that laments the loss of faith and hope. . .well, that’s right in my wheelhouse on most days, so yeah, welcome to the club, George Michael.
