Oh, Meat Loaf, betcher ass this was the #1 song in 1993 on whatever day this was. I kinda forgot about this one, and I don’t know how I could have. I think I actually bought the cassette of this one, but mostly it was for the bad-ass cover art, because the only song I remember from it was the non-edited version of this one, which is pretty amazing, but I guess the radio just couldn’t handle all that awesomeness at once. Why the hell have I not been a bigger Meat Loaf fan, Meat Loaf? It’s all right there. The over-the-top operatic rock and roll, the stunning fantasy imagery on the album covers, this is all the stuff my rock and roll dreams are made of. It’s why I fell in love with Corn Mo.
I don’t know the answer, Meat Loaf, and the problem with getting older is that you need to start figuring out how you want to spend your time because the time to the end is getting much shorter than the time from the beginning. So I can’t promise I’m going to go track down all your old music, but I am going to keep my fingers crossed that more of your music shows up on the radio and I’m lucky enough to record it. Or maybe I’ll do a Meat Loaf latch hook while listening to your albums. That might be a great excuse to immerse myself in your world.
