Oh, Mr. Mister, I love you so. There are a lot of songs I’ve recorded off the radio that bring me back to some specific place and time, and many times that place and time is in my room in front of my stereo when I heard this song for the first time. This is one of those. This was the second song featured on the “Top 90 of the ’80s”, and likely the first time I’d ever heard it. Listening to it again, I’m right back to that cold winter evening, sitting in front of the stereo and listening to this song again for the first time, knowing immediately that this will be one of my go-to songs whenever I want to feel that pang of longing only the best pop songs can give a young foolish teenager. Mixed in with the anticipation of a full night of recording the best songs of the ’90s off the radio. I don’t know if I’ve got any more songs by you that I’ve recorded, Mr. Mister (other than “Kyrie”, of course), but honestly, if this is it, I couldn’t be luckier.
