Oh, The Power Station, great to hear from you again. This song is friggin’ amazing. Last time I wrote about this song, I’d just gotten back from a quick trip to NOLA to celebrate my wife’s Maw Maw’s 90th birthday and I was stressing like crazy about getting all my work done by the end of the year. A year and a half later, and I’m still feeling like a hamster in a wheel. There’s always more work to be done, and I’m never completely caught up.
Don’t get me wrong, The Power Station, other than a few utter boneheads I’m stuck working with and/or for, my job is very rewarding. It’s just those boneheads, The Power Station. Ugh.
I know, The Power Station, I need to get over myself. Ever since I read The Jungle by Upton Sinclair, I try to keep things in perspective. I get paid to help people rather than smashing cattle on the head with a sledgehammer or being in danger of getting eaten by rats if I fall asleep at work. Which, yes, that’s very extreme, The Power Station, but sometimes it gets me through the day.
I know, The Power Station, none of this really has anything to do with your awesome song, but thanks for listening anyway.
