Oh, Damn Yankees, daaaaaamn! Â I had no idea the amazingness of your rock credentials when your music first burst out of my stereo speakers. Â All I knew was that you guys knew how to rock, you knew how to sing, you knew how to rock. . .did I mention that you knew how to rock? Â You guys were so awesome that you were one of the few bands that inspired me to use my hard-earned, meager cash to actually buy your cassette rather than hoping all the songs would show up on the radio so I could tape them. Â And while there were some albums I would buy and realize that the only good songs were the ones that I’d taped off the radio, yours was not one of them. Â And now that I’ve given in and become an Amazon Prime member and have just discovered Prime music (I can get Wilson Phillips’ debut album as part of my subscription!?!?!?), I’m going to finish typing and head on over to my smartphone to see if Amazon will help me relive even more of my youth. Â Thanks for rockin’ so hard, Damn Yankees.
“Coming Of Age”
Dressed ta kill and lookin’
Dynamite
With her high-laced stockings and her sweater so tight
I asked her her name
She said her name was Maybe
Well, she walked up ta me
And she asked me to chance
I said, “I am lookin’ for some wild romance”
She gave me a wink
She said I should think about it, maybe
She said, “Whatchoo got, babe’s what I need
Your kind of love got me on my knees”
I’m so tied up
Whatchoo got, got a hold on me
Your kinda love make a man outta me
I’m so tied up
Ya got me so fired up
Little sister
Hits the stage
She can’t help it
She’s comin’ of age
Little junior, he’s all
In a rage
Didja notice he was comin’ of aaaaage-ah
If looks could kill
I’d be dead on the floor
Ya got me all tied up, honey, beggin’ for more
Somebody call a doctor
I think I’m goin’ crazy
Because whatchoo got, babe, is what I need
Your kind of love got me on my knees
I’m so tied up
Whatchoo got, got a hold on me
Your kinda love make a man outta me
I’m so tied up
Ya got me so fired up
Little sister
Hits the stage
She can’t help it
She’s comin’ of age
Little junior, he’s all
In a rage
Didja notice he was come, come, comin’ of
Woo hoo hoo
Wooooooo
Hey, hey, hey, hey oowwwwwww!
<awesome Damn Yankees jam>
Little sister
Hits the stage
She can’t help it
She’s comin’ of age
Little junior, he’s all
In a rage
Didja notice he was come, come, comin’ of
Little sister
Hits the stage
She can’t help it
She’s comin’ of age
Little junior, he’s all
In a rage
Didja notice he was come, come, comin’ of age
She’s come, come, comin’ of age
She come, she come, she cooooomes
