Radio XLIV, side A, track 10: “Puss N’ Boots/These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” by Kon Kan, Nancy Sinatra, and Led Zeppelin

Kon Kan - Puss N Boots These Boots Are Made For Walkin'Oh, Kon Kan, it’s been nearly a year since we’ve gotten to hear your awesomeness and one of the greatest songs ever made by man, so I was of course super excited to see that another Kon Kan tune had shown up on my track list.  I couldn’t really remember it very well, most likely because since the shadow of “I Beg Your Pardon” was so large, it was easy to forget that you made any other songs.  But here it is.  Another song by you.  Which it definitely is.  A song by you, I mean.  Kinda, anyway.  Let’s be honest, Kon Kan, Led Zeppelin and Nancy Sinatra carried a lot of the weight on this one.  Although I guess you could argue that Lynn Anderson was pretty integral to “I Beg Your Pardon”, but we don’t need to get into all that.  One thing it did make me realize was that you guys have cornered the market on making singing in monotone sound appealing.  It gives me hope that I may still some day be able to sing in a band as well.  Don’t misunderstand, Kon Kan, none of this is meant to be insulting.  Just observations is all.  And it’s not like this song was bad or anything, it just can’t compete with a song that’s given me so much happiness throughout the years.  And this song made me happy, too, because it reminded me of the other song of yours that I love so much.  Which I guess might be a back-handed compliment, so maybe I better just quit while I’m ahead and start walkin’.

(Ah ah aaah ah)

(Ah ah aaah ah ah)

Yeah, I admit that I’m at fault but no, you’ve done it, too

You gotta open up your eyes

Why cancha see it from my point of view, I wancha to
Why do we tell each other lies

I thoughtchoo knew it when I said that I would call last night

I couldn’t find myself a phone

Now come to think about it, can you tell me, am I right

How do I know you were alone

(These boots’a made for walkin’)
(That’s just what they’ll do)
(One’a these days these boots are gonna walk all over you)

<awesome Kon Kan jam>

(Ah ah aaah ah)

(Ah ah aaah ah ah)

Don’t try ta tell me I’m the one who’s makin’ our mistakes
And that I’m causin’ all the pain

I toldja once before you gotta learn some give an’ take
Or was my talkin’ all in vain

Oh, there may come a day when I can give my soul about
Right now I need my space an’ time

I’ll give you everything one day you know I will somehow

I’m gonna hold on to my pride

(These boots’a made for walkin’)
(That’s just what they’ll do)
(One’a these days these boots are gonna walk all over you)

<awesome Kon Kan jam>

(Ah ah aaah ah)

(Ah ah aaah ah ah)

(These boots’a made for walkin’)
(That’s just what they’ll do)
(One’a these days these boots are gonna walk all over you)

(Are you ready boots)

(Start walkin’)
