Oh, The Steve Miller Band, I was really excited to have recorded this one off the radio, but I was thinking this was a different song. Â Not to take anything away from this one since it’s pretty much all kinds of amazing, but I thought that this was actually the song “Magic” from “Ghostbusters”. Â Looking back, I don’t know how I got them mixed up other than that they both revolve around magical words, but they have much different vibes to them. Â I’m including a clip from “Ghostbusters” below if you want to play this over the footage, which would be totally fine, but you’ll be able to tell pretty quickly that that whole scene of the ghosts escaping would not have the same impact if it included this song instead. Honestly, I think this song still would have worked since it’s about the sexy magicness of your lady friend, and Sigourney Weaver is definitely all kinds of sexy magicness, but I remember watching that scene both at the theater and the many other times I’ve seen it since, and that song created the perfect sense of eerieness to everything, I still get goosebumps watching those trails of light heading toward Dana’s apartment as the song plays in the background. Â Sorry, The Steve Miller Band, didn’t mean to hijack a post about this song talking about a completely different song, but I’m feeling pretty confident you’ll never read this post, so I think we’ll be fine. Â Congrats on making it onto the countdown, fellas, it was well-deserved!
