Radio 85, side B, track 2: “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince and The Revolution

Oh, Prince and The Revolution, thanks to BOB I’ve been listening to a lot more of your music, and the more I hear it and the more I read about it, I actually have a feeling that you and I had quite a bit in common.  My whole life, I’ve always had this inferiority complex when it came to you, Prince, because I couldn’t quite completely get into your music and I felt this was a character flaw because clearly you’re incredibly talented and everyone else goes nuts for your music (see what I did there?).  But it’s clear that your religion factored very significantly into your music, which has kind of blown my mind, but while I wasn’t 7th Day Adventist or Jehovah’s Witness, I had relatives who were and as a kid their theories and my own church’s theories all mixed together so now, while I’m not religious pretty much at all, the concepts of a paradise on Earth and the Rapture and all that end of the world stuff is deeply ingrained in me whether I want it to be or not.  I never thought I’d be able to hold a conversation with you, Prince, but now I think I might have been able to hold my own, depending on the topic, of course.  Maybe I am cool enough for you, Prince.  Am I crazy?
