Radio 58, side A, track 6: “Anytime” by McAuley Schenker Group

Oh, McAuley Schenker Group, I think you and Dan Reed Network should get together and put on a conference about how to make the most boring rock band names ever.  Seriously, guys, this was a great tune, and granted it wasn’t until recently that I learned it was you who sang it, but after hearing your name I wasn’t motivated to seek out any more of your stuff.  Because you guys sound like you should be located in an office park instead of rockin’ out on a stage.

“Yes, I’m looking for the McAuley Schenker Group?  I have an appointment.”  “Fifth floor.  Take the elevators and they’ll be to the right.”

There are so many words in the world, McAuley Shenker Group, you could have picked anything.  I’m totally fine if you want to keep your names in there, but how about the McAuley Shenker Explosion?  The McAuley Shenker Bombardment?  The McAuley Shenker Soundgasm?  Hell, even McAuley Shenker Rock Band would be a step up from “group”.  And if you wanted to keep “group” in there for some reason, then we can go with McAuley Shenker Group Hug.  Guys, I came up with all of these in like five seconds.  And if you want me to come up with more, I’ll be happy to do it.  I loved this song as a kid, and it’s still a solid rock tune, so let’s work on this name and get you guys back out there.  I think you know when I’ll be available to help you out.
