Radio XLVIII, side A, track 10: “Swing The Mood” by Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers

Oh, Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers, I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that I’ve listened to this song a hundred million times.  I’ve been saying that I’ve realized that this was the best Hot New Music Hour I ever taped, and this track confirms it.  This song is the culmination of awesome that the whole hour had been building to and I was immediately in love.  Long before song mash-ups were a thing, you guys had already mastered the mix, Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers.  And maybe it speaks to living in a simpler time, or maybe it’s just nostalgia talking, but how great was it that a song consisting of “oldies” from several decades before could become a new pop hit?  And I’ll tell you something, Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers, I actually didn’t know that you guys were also sampling Glenn Miller.  I thought all the big band music was your own stuff and you were supplementing it with classic rock tunes.  Sorry, Glenn Miller.  There’s not really much else to say about this song other than “Push Play again, please”, which I pretty much told myself and still tell myself every time this track ends.  I love you, Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers.
