Oh, Whitesnake, I was going to write about how this was one of the last songs I recorded back in 1990. But this version is NOT the same version as the one I recorded back then. The one I recorded back then was far superior. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at first. There was something that just sounded a little more subdued about this version, but I wasn’t completely sure that this wasn’t the same version or not. But then came the bridge, and there was no question that this one was some kind of impostor. Because the version I recorded back in the day had that amazing “Here I gooooooooo” that could only be replicated if one wanted to risk destroying their vocal cords. But this version’s bridge ended with some lame-ass “Ooo, baby”, and that’s when I knew I was dealing with Brand X. I don’t know what happened, Whitesnake, but I’m glad that I was able to record that far superior track so that everyone knows they’re not just stuck listening to this version for the rest of their lives.
