Oh, Whitesnake, I was going to write about how this was one of the last songs I recorded back in 1990. Â But this version is NOT the same version as the one I recorded back then. Â The one I recorded back then was far superior. Â I couldn’t quite put my finger on it at first. Â There was something that just sounded a little more subdued about this version, but I wasn’t completely sure that this wasn’t the same version or not. Â But then came the bridge, and there was no question that this one was some kind of impostor. Â Because the version I recorded back in the day had that amazing “Here I gooooooooo” that could only be replicated if one wanted to risk destroying their vocal cords. Â But this version’s bridge ended with some lame-ass “Ooo, baby”, and that’s when I knew I was dealing with Brand X. Â I don’t know what happened, Whitesnake, but I’m glad that I was able to record that far superior track so that everyone knows they’re not just stuck listening to this version for the rest of their lives.
