Oh, Kylie Minogue, this is where we part ways, my dear. If memory serves correctly, I think this is the last Kylie Minogue song I captured on my radio tapes. Not that I captured a lot of your songs, Kylie Minogue. In fact, I really only recorded two, but of those two I certainly recorded them a whole heckuva lot. And it’s no mystery why, since both those songs are pretty great. But I gotta say, Kylie Minogue, this is one of the few times I feel like maybe I overdid it on the taping. At least with this song. There were other songs that I recorded more times, but I will admit I’m a little embarrassed by my apparent fascination with “The Locomotion”.
My fear is that when I die, someone will try to find the right words to say about me, and their only real source of information will be this blog, and after looking through all the many songs I recorded they will come to one definitive conclusion, and on my tombstone it will have my name, and right underneath it: “He loved The Locomotion”. It’s not technically wrong, Kylie Minogue, but I don’t know if that’s what I want my legacy to be. Unless you end up singing at my funeral. Then we’re all good.
