Oh, Starship, I’m actually surprised that the quality of this track is as good as it is, because after I recorded this one I listened to it ALL THE TIME.  How could I not, Starship?  This had all the things I loved about pop music.  So much angst and sadness and heartache.  Oh, how I wished I would be able to tell a girl that I’d never find another girl like her or that I could see storms brewing in her eyes.  It would be worth getting dumped by that girl with the stormy eyes just to have loved her.
That’s what I believed back then, anyway. Â Nowadays, it’s totally not worth it AT ALL, Starship. Â But cut me some slack. Â I hadn’t been on a date or kissed a girl or any of those other adolescent milestones I was anxiously awaiting. Â I lived off a steady diet of rom-coms and pop love songs, and I firmly believed that anything that could inspire such great movies or songs, even if it was heartache, HAD to be worth it. Â It accounts for many, many, many of my missteps with the opposite sex right up until. . .what’s the date today?
Seriously, though, Starship, all throughout high school, any time I met a girl named Sara, who spelled it like this song, I was pretty much ready to date her. Â That’s not saying much, I know, since I was pretty much ready to date anybody most of my high school career, BUT I was specifically willing to date a girl named Sara just because her name matched this song. Â That’s how crazy awesome this song was. Â And is. Â Luckily for all girls named Sara out there, this song was not powerful enough to overcome my overwhelming dorkitude, so I never did date any girls named Sara. Â But if I had, you know that this tape would have been primed and ready in my boombox the first time we made out.
“Sara”
Go now
Don’t look back
We’ve drawn the line
Move on
It’s no good to go back in time
I’ll never find another girl like you
For happy endin’s, it takes two
We’re fire and ice
A dream won’t come true
Sara
Sara
Storms are brewin’ in yo eyes
Saraaaa
Sara
No time is a good time for goodbyyyyes
Danger
In the game when the stakes are high
Branded
My heart was branded while my senses stood by
I’ll never find another girl like you
For happy endin’s, it takes two
We’re fire and ice
A dream won’t come true
Sara
Sara
Storms are brewin’ in yo eyes (oh oh oh oh)
Saraaaa
Sara
No time is a good time for goodbyyyyes
(‘Cause Sara) loved me like no one has ever loved me before
(And Sara) hurt me
No one could ever hurt me more
(And Sara)
Saaaaraaaa
(And Sara)
Nobody loved me anymore
<awesome Starship jam>
I’ll never find another girl like you
We’re fire and ice
A dream won’t come true
<awesome Starship jam>
Sara

No time is a good time, oh Sara
Sara
Storms are brewin’ in yo eyes
Saaaraaaaa

No time is a good time for goodbyyyyyes

Storms
Are brewin’ in yo eyes
